This Policy applies to personal information collected through K12 Hunar’s website, accounts, forms, communications, programs, and related services.

K12 Hunar is a K–12 education consulting and technology venture.
3.3 Our Role
For most Platform services, K12 Hunar determines why and how personal information is processed.
For certain school or institutional services, K12 Hunar may process information on behalf of a participating organisation. In those cases, that organisation may be responsible for the information and related privacy requests. The applicable form, notice, or agreement should identify the responsible organisation.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information reasonably necessary for the service being used. The exact information requested will appear on the relevant form or feature.
4.1 Account and Contact Information
This may include:
- Name, email address, and phone number
- Age or date of birth where required
- City and state
- Account role and profile photograph
- Parent or guardian details
- School, organisation, or professional information
- Information required to verify an account or role
4.2 Educational and Participation Information
- Class level, subjects, interests, and learning preferences
- Event registrations and program applications
- Scholarship saves or information submitted through K12 Hunar
- Mentorship requests and session details
- Saved and recently viewed learning resources
- Club membership, activities, and roles
- Projects, achievements, and portfolios
4.3 Payment and Transaction Information
We may collect billing details, selected plans, transaction references, payment status, and purchase history.
Complete card, bank, UPI, or other payment credentials may be processed directly by an authorised payment provider under its own privacy policy.
4.4 Submitted Content and Communications
We may receive messages, support requests, applications, feedback, reviews, documents, photographs, videos, learning resources, event proposals, and project work submitted by users.

Precise location will be collected only when a user actively enables a location-based feature.
How We Collect Information
K12 Hunar may collect personal information:
- Directly through accounts, forms, applications, payments, and communications
- From parents, guardians, schools, or authorised institutional partners
- From mentors, organisers, contributors, and service providers
- Automatically through Platform use, cookies, security logs, and device interactions
- From payment, hosting, analytics, and communication providers
- From official, public, or lawfully available sources
- When someone contacts support or submits a privacy request
Users must provide another person’s information only when authorised and after obtaining any required permission. A school or organisation providing student information confirms that it has the necessary authority and consent to do so.
How and Why We Use Information
K12 Hunar may use personal information to:
- Create, verify, and manage accounts
- Provide requested services and Platform features
- Process registrations, applications, subscriptions, and payments
- Manage mentorship requests and Club participation
- Save preferences, opportunities, and learning resources
- Send confirmations, reminders, and essential service updates
- Review profiles, listings, applications, and submissions
- Provide support and respond to requests
- Prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents
- Analyse and improve Platform performance
- Maintain records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations
We will not use personal information for an unrelated purpose without appropriate notice and consent where required.
Promotional communications will be sent only where permitted. Users may unsubscribe from marketing without affecting essential account, safety, payment, or service communications.
Consent and Other Permitted Processing
Where consent is required, K12 Hunar will provide a clear notice explaining what information is requested, why it is needed, and how it will be used.
Consent must be provided through a clear affirmative action and may be withdrawn through the privacy-request process. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed lawfully, but it may prevent us from continuing a service that requires the information.
K12 Hunar may also process information where permitted or required by law, including for service delivery, security, fraud prevention, emergencies, legal claims, and compliance obligations.

Children’s Privacy
K12 Hunar serves school-age users and applies additional safeguards to personal information relating to users under 18.
Where required, we will obtain verifiable permission from a parent or legal guardian before processing a child’s personal information.
K12 Hunar will not knowingly use children’s information for targeted advertising, behavioural monitoring, or processing likely to harm their well-being where prohibited by law.
Parents and guardians may request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent through the privacy-request process.
If we learn that a child’s information was collected without the required permission, we will take appropriate steps to restrict or delete it, subject to applicable legal obligations.

11.1 Storage and Security
K12 Hunar uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and associated risks.
No system is completely secure. Users should protect their login credentials and report suspected misuse promptly.
Where required by law, K12 Hunar will notify affected users and relevant authorities of qualifying personal-data breaches.
11.2 Retention
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide requested services
- Maintain accounts and transaction records
- Resolve disputes and support requests
- Prevent fraud, misuse, or security incidents
- Meet legal, accounting, and contractual obligations
When no longer required, information will be deleted, anonymised, or securely restricted, subject to applicable retention duties. Limited copies may remain temporarily in secure backups.
11.3 International Transfers
Some service providers may store or process information outside India. Where this occurs, K12 Hunar will follow applicable legal requirements and government restrictions relating to cross-border transfers.
Privacy Rights and Requests
Depending on applicable law, you may request:
K12 Hunar may verify your identity or authority before processing a request. Parents or legal guardians may submit requests for a child where authorised.
A request may be limited where information must be retained for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal claims. We will explain the reason where a request cannot be fully completed.
If a school or institution controls the relevant information, we may direct or forward the request to that organisation.
Changes to This Policy
K12 Hunar may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in applicable law, Platform services, safety requirements, technology, or operational practices.
The Last updated date at the top of this page will show when the Policy was revised. If a material change affects privacy rights or practices, we will provide reasonable notice through the Platform, email, or another appropriate channel.
Where fresh consent is legally required, we will request it through a clear affirmative action. Continued use of K12 Hunar will not, by itself, be treated as consent where express consent is required.
